  1. DMM vinyl version arrived in perfect condition. While Caress of Steel was not my favorite Rush album, it was monumental in setting the stage for the progressive epic masterpieces that would follow. Taking up the entire B side, "The Fountain of Lamneth" was (and remains) one of the most beloved songs/5().
  2. But the ill-advised "I Think I'm Going Bald" (which lyrically deals with growing old) borders on the ridiculous, which confirms that Caress of Steel is one of Rush's more unfocused albums. [Caress of Steel was re-released on LP in ].
  3. The album the band thought would break them into the big time. But not this time. "Bastille Day", The Fountain of Lamneth" and "Lakeside Park" are the better songs on this release. These show a lot better songwriting from the guys. I never cared for the song "I Think I'm Going Bald", it just seems silly and out of place amongst other Rush songs.

  9. 'Caress of Steel' is an odd Rush album. For me it is emotionally all over the place. Lets start easily. The first three tracks are amazing. The Rush we know and love from 'Fly by Night' with more material to amaze us with. Sure, 'I Think I'm Going Bald' isn't your usual classic Rush track, but I really dig it.
